Food and Nutrition Commission

BRINGING HOPE FOR THE WORLD, BETTER HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY

The objective of the Food and Nutrition Commission (FNC) is to develop and build centers globally to gather, store and distribute nutritious and sustainable food. The FNC will then set up distribution channels through the regional welfare centers of UCO.

The UCO FOOD AND NUTRITION COMMISSION (UCOFNC)

The FNC is an international program of United Charish Organization. The Food and Nutrition Commission shall establish UCO’s food and nutrition supply centers with warehouse facilities in all the major cities all over the world to provide food to the hungry and poor nations facing food shortages.

According to 2018 global studies, conducted by the Food and Agriculture Organization, more than 925 million people are malnourished. Perhaps, non-intuitive, the scope of food crisis is not strictly limited to emergency zones. Hunger is the root of poverty and poverty the root of hunger.

The mission of FNC is to fight against hunger and eradicate poverty. There is a plentiful supply of food on Earth; the challenge is distribution. World agriculture produces 17 percent more calories per person today than it did 40 years ago, despite a 70 percent population increase in 2019. This is enough to provide everyone with at least 2,720 kilocalories every day.

A vital challenge is that many of us do not have sufficient land to grow crops or money to purchase enough food. The inequality with regard to income is prevalent and its scope varies greatly between countries. According to an article written by the World Bank in 2001, there was an estimated 1.1 billion people living below the poverty level, many living on less than one dollar a day. Extreme poverty remains an alarming and growing crisis, despite efforts taken in the 90’s, which reduced the number from 1.23 billion people to 1.1 billion, a reduction of 12 percent. Efforts to reduce poverty have mostly been limited to Asia and Africa.

The UCO Food and Nutrition Commission slogan is: “Enough for All”
